Referee: How do you do, Mr. Ajan?

Mr. Ajan: Oh, How are you, Mr. Li? I’m very glad that you have arrived in time to join this meeting.

Referee: I must express my hearty thanks to you and the executive committee for selecting me as a referee for such an important event.

Mr. Ajan: Well, Naturally we must invite the most experienced one to serve at the World Weightlifting Championships.

Referee: Has the referee’s schedule been fixed? May I know which category or categories is I to serve?

Mr. Ajan: We’ve already drawn up a duty-schedule for referees, and if no objections are raised at this meeting, we’ll just carry it out as it is. Here is the schedule. You are to be the chief referee at Men’s Group A competition of the 85kg category and a side referee (No.3) at Men’s Group B competitions of the 105kg category. What do you think of that?

Referee: Good! I think it’s well arranged. I could have two days rest in between.

Mr. Ajan: Ladies and gentlemen! Now allow me to call your attention, First, I’d like to inform you some important revisions and Supplements to the technical rules, which will come into effect at this competition:

1.       The new category, divisions for men and women will be carried out from this world championship.

2.       The interval time between each attempt is 60 seconds. When a lifter is attempting continuous in the interval between the two lifts is 120 seconds.

3.       If the precision of the scale enables the registration of weights by 10g, the Baby-weight thus indicated must be recorded as it is.
